After completion of the ground preparation work, we are pleased to announce that the formal structural construction work for the stupa (chaithya) commenced at the auspicious time on 23rd of August 2018. Soon after the ceremonial opening it was reported the heavens opened, as the long awaited rains finally fell, signalling an end to the dry season.

Phase one of the Chaithya construction completed in September 2018.

Young and old, rich or poor, people from all walks of life came together to accomplish the vision of Ven. Somananda Thero; That is to bring peace and harmony among the local communities and provide support to the poor villagers of the surrounding area.
